Lauren Boebert’s “Complete Gaslighting” claim is being thrown right back at her

Rep. Lauren Boebert (Republican of Colorado) attacked Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for “complete gaslighting” after he defended President Joe Biden during an interview over the weekend – an accusation that critics quickly turned on her.

Mayorkas, who was the subject of a failed Republican impeachment attempt in the House last week, went on the offensive for his boss after special counsel Robert Hur called Biden an “older man with a poor memory.”

Mayorkas called these claims “baseless, unnecessary and inaccurate.”

“The hardest part about meeting with President Biden is the preparation because he is sharp, intensely researching, detail-oriented and focused,” he said on “Meet the Press” Sunday.

Boebert retweeted the clip and compared Mayorkas to notorious Iraqi propagandist Muhammad Saeed Al-Sahhaf, also known as “Baghdad Bob.”

“Even Baghdad Bob was a little more subtle than that.” she wrote on X. “Complete gaslighting.”

Boebert, who was kicked out of a performance of the musical “Beetlejuice” last year for being disruptive and inappropriate, holds what was widely considered a “safe” Republican House seat but narrowly won re-election in 2022 and flipped Since then, the district has struggled to avoid a rematch with Adam Frisch.

However, she recently ranked fifth in a poll in her new district.

Boebert’s critics couldn’t help but point out the irony of the “gaslighting” claim, considering she embraces conspiracy theories and is completely loyal to Donald Trump:
