Max Adds Fear The Walking Dead, More AMC+ Series For 2 Months – Variety

As part of a cross-streamer promotion, Max subscribers will receive a sample disc of AMC+ programs in September and October at no extra charge.

Beginning September 1st and available through October 31st, Max and AMC Networks will launch a pop-up program on Max featuring full seasons of seven AMC original series totaling more than 200 episodes.

The AMC+ content available on Max for the 60-day period is: “Fear the Walking Dead” (Seasons 1-7), “Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire” (Season 1), “Dark Winds” (Season 1) , “Gangs of London” (seasons 1-2), “Ride With Norman Reedus” (seasons 1-5), “A Discovery of Witches” (seasons 1-3) and “Killing Eve” (seasons 1-4).

The terms of the contract are not disclosed. It’s unknown if any funds will change hands between the companies, but the partnership is described as “mutually beneficial.”

The “AMC+ Picks on Max” appear in a branded menu bar, available in both the ad-free and ad-supported subscription tiers of Max, and “gives subscribers the chance to unlock a world of new characters and stories,” according to Warner Bros .Discovery. The AMC+ titles do not contain advertising.

“Subscribers turn to Max for a comprehensive and diverse selection of stories for the whole household,” said Meredith Gertler, EVP of global content strategy, planning and analysis at Warner Bros. Discovery, in a statement. “The AMC+ Collection pop-up is a great example of how we can use innovative strategies to add value to our content offering.”

“AMC Networks makes great shows, and our goal is to bring those shows to as many people as possible, in a way that best serves viewers,” added Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment and AMC Studios at AMC Networks. “This advertising agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery is a great opportunity to bring some of our most popular and critically acclaimed programs to millions of Max subscribers across the US for two months.”

Separately, as previously announced, starting September 27 in the US, Max will launch CNN Max (available in all Max packages), a 24/7 streaming news channel that will offer live programming from CNN US and CNN International with special provides original programs developed for Max. WBD says CNN Max will be “an open beta for news,” allowing for experimentation with product features, content offerings, and storytelling with feedback from Max subscribers.
